Pros

Flexibility with scheduling which works great for school and good hours for PA school

Cons

The low pay, now they limit hours you can work, favoritism among all employees. The culture has changed over the years everyone is just a number. They have been sued multiple times, don’t follow lunch and OT laws and don’t get me started on ops working overtime and being forced to to attend meetings on day off. Even if it’s zoom they are salary and not getting paid. They are all about the money even it means breaking the law. Don’t get started on the sexual assault and harassment cases over the years even before my time, but hey if your easy and have a pretty face sleep your way up. If you get promoted, just bend over and be a yes man because any feed back even if good will be viewed as going against them. The claim and promote change, but it’s Steve’s, lemar and Sean( who allegedly left but some how is still there to fire people) and especially Samantha’s way or your out. They fired top members of OPs team both supervisors and managers who dedicated years to the company with no reasonable explanation and claim “separation due to directional changes” and offered hush money to keep royal dirty laundry hush hush, which unfortunately some took due to family needs, but they will eventually fail, sell or disappear. Many people are fed up with them over the years the will lose contracts and eventually those who think they have power will end up like everyone else and only the greedy owner will still be rich.

Pros

Scheduling flexible, but, well ….

Cons

Apparently, Royal was once a great company to work for. They gave EMT’s bonuses for hitting a certain number of calls, paid them fair overtime, and generally honored scheduling needs. Well, the bonus is now given to dispatch only, who receive higher pay than EMT’s (!), they illegally go into time cards and break up double shifts into triples so they don’t have to pay us overtime, and their scheduler is a grown adult who literally lies and changes records to cover her lies. It’s exasperating working for this company, and a growing number of people feel this way.

Pros

- Will learn a lot and experience lots of different cases - Night shifts allowed for more flexibility

Cons

- Understaffed and always looking for you to pick up shifts - Wouldn’t allow me to work part-time while I went back to school - Expected to transport patients that you are not trained for and outside your scope of practice - Lack of communication between management, scheduler was not informed I had put in my two-weeks
