Pros

Good place to get billing time to achieve your CPA. Can get extended experience since they are always short on staff and need people to take on projects they have not done before.

Cons

Tough environment to climb the ladder. They don't believe in levels to give you status as you grow your career. Once you move from Staff to Manager the income increase if very minimal, and they charge you more for health benefits once you are a manager. Extensive hours of over-time, all year long, not just seasonal. Turnover of employees is very high, even more than the average CPA firm. Benefits are weak, no 401k matching, medical coverage not very good. They say you can grow to different departments, but they will never let you since they are so understaffed.
