Pros

-Only worked late a handful of times in 1.5 years -Had my own office -Worked with a lot of analytics -Great colleagues outside my own department -You will meet and work with some great medical staff members who genuinely care about patients and the community

Cons

-Luckily I came from a data driven job so I already had a large amount of training. If you need training DO NOT work here. You will just be micromanaged and will NEVER learn anything. -If you want to make enough money to live a decent life in Chicago - keep moving -Poor employee development pathways for everyone especially those lower on the ladder -Micromanagement in the strategic planning, marketing, and program development leads to high turnover and very poor employee satisfaction (5 people have left in the past 2 years) -Often you'll find incompetent leadership and colleagues due to a lack of pay and advancement pathways -Extremely rude leadership in the strategic outreach office creates extreme difficulties and spineless management will throw lower employees under the bus repeatedly instead of taking responsibilities for mistakes -Rush is silo-ed so if you think you can just leave a department, think again -Partnering with the finance department is like pulling teeth because everyone there is demoralized because they know how much they get payed compared to the medical staff
