Pros

Decent pay, great people and benefits weren’t bad. Lots of room for growth, you can easily step into different roles within the company.

Cons

Deadlines/pressure for sales, some micromanaging, paid only once a month

Good pay, good houses, but poorly run

Pros

The compensation is definitely above average, and once you get used to the work you know exactly what your job is and what you are expected to do. The folks in the back office are wonderful, and middle level management actually cares about people. You learn a lot, and they push you to do better in (mostly) a good way.

Cons

Their regional/upper level management all the way up to their C-suite are completely disconnected from reality. They "talk out of both sides of their mouth," don't understand how people or the lower levels of the business actually work, and their goals are completely unattainable and do not match their actual behavior. They say one thing, but do another. That, and their software system is a dinosaur and is way too old for a company that size. Career opportunities are poor, with blatant favoritism for promotions. In Nashville in 2025, ALL promotions that happened were to people who had direct ties to Virginia (where NVR is headquartered.) Promotions are based on feelings and favorites, not based on facts, logic, and results. It's also easier for an external job seeker to be promoted into a position than it is for an internal employee, which seems incredibly backwards. They preach "promoting from within" but then...don't. The company also had layoffs every few years, and the last one was brutal. Regional/upper management were incredibly callous and just shrugged their shoulders about it. Their benefits are "meh." Not bad, not good. But they make up for it on the compensation side.
