Pros

They give a nice presentation when they recruit you.

Cons

A lot of the higher ups will lie to you in your face and they are passive aggressive. An example is if you're a straight forward person and call them on their BS they will stop giving you good paying loads.

Pros

You are guaranteed 40 hours.

Cons

No organization. Sneaky and deceitful coworkers and managers. Watch your back. You share a truck with other drivers. Expect to start your shift with spilled coffees, leftover lunch stinking up the cab, and cigarette and alcohol smell and ashes all over the place. In general, other drivers don't take care of the trucks. You have to constantly be worried about damage to the truck being blamed on you. Management turns a blind eye to serious issues including safety. Ryder has a no retaliation policy but if you can't "do a favor" you will not be considered for OT. You will be overworked because there's no help. People call out all the time to avoid doing their route and management is aware. Their solution is to make you pick up the slack and they get the easy shift. The pay is not enough to be disrespected, taken advantage of, and overworked. OT doesn't cut it. Ryder has videos that everything is great and it's far from the truth. Employees threaten bodily harm to others and even to other motorists on the street and get to keep their jobs. The warehouse is a mess and expect to load and unload your truck because your coworkers and manager will hide in bathroom or have 20 smoke breaks when the drivers start/end their shift. Avoid at all costs unless you're desperate.
