Great Place to Work

Pros

Hard work gets noticed and rewarded. If you have the right attitude and drive, you are going to find success. Supportive managers who coach and mentor. Most people are friendly and easy to get along with. Pay and benefits above average. Tend to promote from within the organization, lots of opportunities for advancement (especially if geographically mobile).

Cons

Slow moving organization, lots of initiatives to promote new ideas run into wall of long-time employees who have little interest in adapting. Some locations have bad reputations.

Pros

The guys that do all of the hard work are great to work with. The benefits are good.

Cons

Management can get away with anything from blackmail to racism and nothing is done just swept under the proverbial rug. Pressure if things are not done they way upper management want even if it creates safety issues. Upper management has no clue what they are doing.

Pros

You are exposed to a lot of high-level financial information, with tons of data access. You are also given the opportunity to take on as many projects as you would like, and are given the change to collaborate with others in the department. Everyone is also very open to questions, and are willing to help.

Cons

First few weeks are slow, but the pace picks up fast
