That should tell you all you need to know. If you want a promotion just switch companies, unless you're buddy buddy with the managers in the department you're trying to move to, I guarantee you won't get it. Meanwhile they hand out promotions like candy to the directors every year. I've seen complete idiots move up to positions when there are more deserving and hard working people that should be getting the promotion. Takeaway is work here if you have no other option or are just trying to break into the industry. Otherwise just work somewhere else.
