      Fine. Over saturated by retired Navy Officers with little to no experience in private sector.

      Pros

      Decent pay. Relaxed schedule. Not too much micromanaging.

      Cons

      They really low ball you on salary. It is a good old boys club. If you are not a retired Navy OFFICER good luck being in a management position regardless of your credentials. Way too top heavy. Questionable ability to gain and keep new contracts. They have a use and lose mentality if you are not on the management team.

      Pros

      The pros are great once you get hired on. Continued education, pay for certification tests, decent insurance, excellent online portal.

      Cons

      Most employees on help desks work for 2 years or more as temp without insurance, paid time off, holiday pay and raises. Most positions will not give you a raise when you are hired on, you have to wait until April. Temps work almost every holiday. Managers are not capable of doing their jobs. Promotion is based on whether you are friends with the big boss or not.

      Pros

      We have beautiful work locations in San Diego. My superiors on site are also amazingly flexible with schedules, and very compassionate when it comes to flexibility. We also have great affordable benefit options, as well as company matched 401k contributions. Typically, SAIC is a great company for upward professional growth.

      Cons

      Our supervisor structure at my site is not the greatest. We have people with a lot of responsibility reporting to people with less responsibility because the supervisor "tree" seems to be based on seniority, not ability. It is frustrating to see my amazingly capable coworkers be held down by supervisors that are less capable but have been here longer. Because our site is specialized, there is little room for movement and professional growth - however, I have heard that movement within the company is fantastic. I love this company, it's ethics, and everything it stands for, I am only unhappy in my current position.
