Pros

Large and stable with lots of places not to shine or excel.

Cons

In-fighting, ego driven and not the best. No fun and no time off.

Pros

Able to learn as much as you're interested in learning. Ask and you will be given new and varied opportunities to explore and excel in. Flexibility in work schedule & working from home if desired/necessary. Pay is competitive. My management team is great.

Cons

SAIC is made up of government contracts, so it is inevitable that some contracts will be lost, and some people's jobs will be impacted. We are also going through a lot of reorganizations so many people are losing their jobs as a result of budget cuts. This is especially true in the support functions like finance, HR, and contracts. I absolutely made the right decision leaving my previous employer to come to SAIC.
