Pros

The pay and benefits are better at SAIC than the competitors (Northrop, McKing, Lockheed). Managers are laid back. People are able to work from home one day a week. Hours are flexible.

Cons

Employees of SAIC Atlanta are really contract employees. Staffing is based on contracts and funding. If the contract ends or funding dries up, you will be laid off. There is very little administrative support for the regional office. There is minimal career advancement available at the regional office, but transferring to Washington DC might be an option. There may be more opportunities at the SAIC Headquarters. The regional offices are not as nice as the Headquarters. Headquarters has lavish parties and events, but the regional offices do not.

Pros

SAIC is a very stable and reliable company to work for. The business is always in need. Great benefits packages. Company stock purchase plans. Lots of choices for medical insurance. Flexible time-off.

Cons

Annual review raises and bonuses don't keep up with rate of inflation.
