Pros

One of the best companies I've worked for. Employees are intelligent, reliable and dedicated. Although nothing is handed to you, the ways to improve your skills and better your chances for advancement are available and well-communicated. Compensation is in line with market and those with security clearances are in high demand. Hard work is well rewarded with merit pay and bonuses. There are opportunities to move with in the company to many different geographic locations.

Cons

Long hours are expected, although this is somewhat balanced by telecommuting. You are expected to be available immediately at all hours, even on vacation. Employees are very competitive and not always helpful.

Pros

Flexible environment. Mgmt understands that your life is bigger than your job. Rarely have to work over 40/hrs/week. Seems to have excellent job security.

Cons

Very homogeneous work-force -- almost all ex-military. Sometimes not very professional in methodology. Not cutting-edge work in most cases. Much of the work is "same-old, same-old". Can feel a little stifling.

Pros

Opportunities to work on a variety of projects and often for a variety of clients. If you are really extroverted and can sell yourself and others, you can move into management opportunities fairly quickly. The commercial business side is growing and provides employees a great opportunity to participate in a growth sector of the corporation.

Cons

Sick days and vacation days or any time off such as for Dr. visits are lumped into a "bank" called Comprehensive Leave. Together the annual number of days provided is a bit less than other companies that provide separate vacation and sick days "banks".
