Pros

In an economic downturn, Intel Community jobs are pretty resistant to cycles in the economy

Cons

If you don’t bill, you don’t get paid. When people with clearances are sent home, they are forced to use vacation time. Working for an intel community contractor means that there is no telework. Right now, if you’re supporting the IC on an SAIC contract you might as well be on a cruise ship. At least you can get off the ship but then how do you pay your mortgage. SAIC will tell you that you can use your vacation time (which you might have already used for sick leave). But right now, you’re forced to choose between catching (and bringing home) COVID or not getting paid.

Management and team leads always have your back. Your performance will be noticed and attention will be paid accordingly.

Cons

There are times when people are moving up in positions and end up being understaffed
