Pros

Salary is good for the area, but only if you belong to the "good ole boy's" group.

Cons

If you have not worked for SAIC or know someone who works for SAIC you are considered an outsider. You will get no where in your profession. Manager's don't teach they just collect their paychecks and any employee benefits left over at the end of the year.

Pros

Many of the programs are high-tech, defense related, and can be pretty interesting. There are lots of smart people to interact with and learn from.

Cons

Overhead is a 4-letter word, so training/retraining, conferences and the like are minimal. If you're on a direct contract, you're OK until it ends; then you're pretty much on your own to find other work. Hire and layoff are the standard staffing procedures.
