Pros

The Teams within small groups work together as a family. Struggles are met and faced together. Growth opportunities are encouraged and supported by management for individual and team efforts.

Cons

When SAIC left the Employee Owned status, it seems that SAIC wants everything from the employee for the Stock Holder. Gone are the days when your efforts were to increase the company, and growth in the company meant growth for the individual. Gone are incentives to stay, after 20 years with the company, no simple awards or gifts of appreciation are presented to the employee who has stuck thru the hard times and made this company great. Only more profet for the stock holder. I'm not trying to say I don't love working for SAIC. I only wish SAIC would love us back. Please consider the little people who feel lost, or unappreciated. A simple gesture would make a world of good.

Pros

Large contract company, provides most benefits you'd receive at a 'salary/normal' job such as health, life, dental, vision, 401k matching. Pay is also reasonable but it's extremely hit or miss - you could sit next to and work with a person on your team that has the same title as you and you could have a 30k difference in pay between the two of you. Good work life balance, but not due to SAIC but due to the contracts they have - 40 hour work week is very nice.

Cons

Unwilling to pay for training, it's not a permanent job even though they consider it one, you are assigned to a contract and your pay is based on that contract, if you move to a new one your pay will be adjusted. Effectively no long term growth potential,
