Pros

The benefits are great. the campus and buildings are beautiful, good food in the cafeteria. People is friendly. the bad working environment is compensated by the benefits. Most employees have an office

Cons

Managers do not know how to manage. Most managers are promoted by friendship, If you are lucky your manager will leave you alone and you will do the work. But a lot of them are micromanagers There are a lot of politics in this company. You have to watch your back all the time If you have a problem with a manager, HR will not support you, They will look the other way

Pros

Good benefits and people hired tent to be top notch. Efforts made at corporate level to present a good image for family balance. No shortage on investment in technology, just not well focused.

Cons

Seems what was a great company is now a good company. Cutting back on perks, extras for staff. Management lacks a vision. Good portion of in fighting between teams. Some people just do the minimum since they can. Only promotions are given to the favorites. A place where careers come to get stale. Staff is overworked despite the work/life claims.

Pros

Employee benefits (day care, health, adoption) are above industry norm, almost all US-based employees have their own office, company closes during week of Christmas, you can obtain 4 weeks of vacation after 10 years (plus Christmas), Great place for young workers direct from college or young families. Very few employees ever work over 38hrs per week and the company promotes this regularly. Majority of perks in the Cary HQ office....

Cons

Are you a Type A personality and career driven? You'll leave in months or bow down before mediocrity. Salaries and bonus are far below tech industry average so SAS does not pursue industry top talent. The executives in R&D, marketing, sales have been there for 10+ years and no one will rock-the-boat or depart so upward mobility is non-existent. The 95% employee retention is not a benefit to be promoted, but curse to career growth. Majority of employees have no defined bonus plan/payout. Found it common to be offered 3x bonus working at IBM, HP, RedHat.
