Pros

- Team is full of hard working, creative, and genuinely talented individuals. - Great health benefits

Cons

-Management is a nightmare. Insane deadlines, constantly moving developers on to new projects before old ones are done, blaming everyone but themselves if anything goes wrong. Management literally talks about how they are brilliant and the people working for them are dumb. - Devs/support get spread thin and projects are isolated, rarely getting to work with others. This results in specific people being the only ones who understand how entire applications work, and when they leave it becomes a huge problem for the devs who now support those apps. - Lack of vision. Company is constantly changing directions and a sense of product ownership. - No on boarding process to speak of. - Software is buggy and outdated.

I would agree with the reviewer during the first 15 years of starting SBI(2001-2016). We pushed extremely hard and made a ton of mistakes. I apologize if your time at SBI was not enjoyable. We have evolved and matured as a business and provide a healthy working environment. Tim Morita Co-Founder

Pros

An amazing team of top-notch developers. Excellent place to learn and to work with the latest coding technologies. I've learned more working here than from any other employer. The work itself is challenging enough to keep you interested, but not so much to stress you out. Competitive salary and generous benefits. Very casual and fun atmosphere.

Cons

Management can be demanding, but if you bring your 'A' game, it will pay off.

Pros

co-workers are awesome, pay is okay, clients use software and expect it to work.

Cons

poor management, toxic workplace, unstable employment opportunities 1st: al the positive reviews on here are from the owners and their family, who they employ despite their poor interpersonal skills and lack of qualification that is evident to everyone at the company. I've worked at a few other companies and seen poor management, but this is uniquely unpleasant and comically dysfunctional. The owners are also the day-to-day managers, they think they're good at it because they made a good product 20 years ago and they're amazingly arrogant. However, they haven't realized that the reason EVERYTHING they make is buggy, late, over-complex and stressful for employees is because they are bad at managing product design and software development. It is evident on a daily basis that they don't think they have anything to learn from what the rest of the world has learned about software development in the last 30 years. They constantly repeat and defend juvenile mistakes that every freshman software engineer or designer it taught was a huge mistake companies made in the nineties. They think 'Software Development 101' is a huge waste of time for people that can't grasp their genius 'Process' (them making it up as they go). Anyone who disagrees is 'stupid' and the owners are so self-obsessed with their own ideas they almost never hear any criticism. They think they know data and SQL but make elementary mistakes in design and repeat well established design flaws daily while defending them because they worked before (buggy software) and they made a 'lot' of money. The really sad thing is their customers whole businesses are tied to this software so they are stuck using it and have to beg and pay outrageous sums to get even simple, known bugs fixed. They publicly belittle employees daily (past and current), complain when people take time off, perpetuate toxic culture, ship buggy software, think people who disagree are stupid, and only care about money. Seriously, check it out, go work here for a while, it's funny how bad their 'process' is...
