Pros

The company does have decent benefits for a basic plan. They also give you holiday time off with plenty days you can use without using your accrued time.

Cons

HR absolutely answers no questions you may have about the hiring process and any questions regarding the job itself to say the least. HR also refuses to hire employees who are potentially great candidates for the job. Management and upper management play a big part in who they hire. They are hiring favorites, not employees who have a good work ethic. Management on production floor continuously fails to guide employees towards the right direction for employee hire ons and job promotions. As an employee on production floor you have absolutely no chance to grow in this company to say the least.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are proud to offer many benefits that enhance the lives of our team members and their families. We are disheartened to read that you did not feel some interactions with HR team members were helpful. We are committed to clear communication and have shared your feedback with the appropriate team. Please know that only job-related factors – such as job performance, training, experience, or specialized skills that are required to properly perform the job – are used as a basis for employment selection at SCJ.

Pros

Some teams are collaborative, and the company offers opportunities to work on recognizable household products.

Cons

Unfortunately, the culture can feel highly political and favoritism is noticeable in certain areas of the organization. Advancement and opportunities sometimes appear tied more to internal relationships than performance. Another challenge is the lack of transparency around relocation packages and policies. Expectations are not always clearly communicated upfront, which can create difficult financial and personal situations for employees later on. Work-life balance can also be particularly challenging for parents. In my experience, there was limited empathy or flexibility for mothers navigating family responsibilities alongside demanding work expectations. The overall environment in some teams can feel toxic, with inconsistent leadership support and unclear processes. This can make it difficult for employees to feel secure or valued. Advice to Management: Improve transparency around relocation agreements and employee policies, create more consistent leadership standards, and foster a culture where employees, especially working parents feel supported rather than penalized.

We appreciate you sharing your comments. At SCJ, it is our goal to build a diverse, inclusive and supportive work environment where all people can thrive. We are disheartened to read that this wasn’t your experience, and we have escalated these comments to the appropriate team for review. Regarding career advancement at SCJ, only job-related factors – such as job performance, training, experience or specialized skills that are required to properly perform the job – may be used as a basis for employment selection. We have zero tolerance for discrimination or harassment based on race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, culture, ethnicity, age or ability. For our internal teams, our HR representatives maintain an open-door policy and are available to listen to concerns anytime. When relocation is required, SCJ shares information about available support and expectations upfront, and our HR and Global Mobility teams remain available to help answer questions along the way. We value open communication and strive to support employees through these important transitions. On support for team members and their families, we work to ensure that our policies and programs are relevant to employees and supports them in balancing work and personal responsibilities. From expanded benefits that help employees stay healthy to flexible schedule options that help employees manage personal and work responsibilities, our operations around the world offer a variety of programs to support the varying needs of SCJ people – not only in their work, but also in their lives outside of the office.

Thank you for sharing your comments. We are proud to be a privately held company that does what's right for people and the planet because we believe we have a larger purpose. We also believe as a family company, we hold ourselves and our products to a higher standard. From our CEO’s leadership on ocean plastics to the steps we take to make safe, quality products, we’re working every day to do what’s right for people and the planet. Because we make decisions with careful consideration for the environment and the families who use our products, we recognize that at times, it may feel as though we aren’t moving fast enough. We believe in committing the necessary time and effort to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure we’re meeting customers’ needs and delivering the appropriate strategies, programs and solutions for our business.
