Pros

I can't think of anything desirable about this company.

Cons

There's really nothing good about this company, and there's no reason for people to stay here if they have other options. The leadership is useless, and the work environment is not conducive to growth. You're fored to work on repetitive tasks without any growth and learning. And the management does nothing else aside from give out tasks to employees.

Low pay, inconsistent scheduling

Pros

Sometimes there are recharge days which is 4 hours paid, not full days. However, it can be tough to get the hours/time you’d prefer.

Cons

You cannot live off the wages. Average wage cannot pay rent. They give you your schedule 2 weeks in advance. During open enrollment they require you to have open availability, work overtime and weekends. With low pay and not a set schedule you can’t work a second job. You’re only given 6 min/day for bathroom breaks. The CEO makes over 2 mil and workers don’t receive livable wages.

SCAN Health Plan Response

Thank you for your feedback; however, we are saddened to hear about your experience. SCAN takes great pride and measures to ensure that employees are cared for and supported in their work and personal lives. This is reflected in various ways: ongoing training for our management so that they have the tools to lead with expertise and compassion; numerous “recharge” days in addition to PTO; $0 health insurance plans; employee assistance/wellness programs and more. We understand that inflation is taking a toll on our daily lives, which is why SCAN provided employees an “inflation bonus” designed to help offset the rising cost of living. Regarding scheduling, if you have concerns that you would like to address, we encourage you to reach out to your supervisor or a HR representative at PeopleRelations@scanhealthplan.com.

Perfectly Imperfect

Pros

SCAN is a company in the middle of impressive growth, creating opportunities to stretch and grow in an exciting ways. If you're starting out your career, this is a great place to get exposed to different types of projects. If you're mid or late career, you'll find the policies and culture to be a breath of fresh air compared to prior organizations. The benefits are solid (my healthcare is mostly covered!) and there is a culture of encouraging hard work and rest and recharge, noting that we are all human and need downtime.

Cons

As the company evolves there are policies and procedures that haven't caught up yet. It can be frustrating to work around but also an opportunity to rise up, speak up, and try different approaches.
