An alturistic company that is poorly managed

Pros

Great field of work. Great co-workers. Good pay and benefits.

Cons

Not up to date with technology. Programs aren't vetted prior to being released. Marketing operates in the dark ages. Senior leadership should step down and hire a well-versed CEO with advanced leadership and busness skills to run the company. This is a scientific company with no scientists on staff. Staff is shuffled around without cause.

Pros

The mission of company attracts smart, vibrant and creative people who are the driving force for the company's success. Due to the willingness of staff to continue growing business and furthering the integrity of the company, there are many opportunities to aid in program development endeavors (as time permits).

Cons

The company is facing lots of turnover as the economy improves and outside opportunities become available to the talented and smart staff who are underpaid, unappreciated, unrecognized, and over worked. The company has implemented many corporate procedures, but fails to abide by these policies, such as in the case promotions, posting of new and open positions, personnel reviews. There is no transparency within the company in regards to salaries, annual raises, or educational reimbursements. It is an ad-hoc approach and certainly unsustainable. It is questionable if the company can sustain these practices. I predict more turn-over in 2011.

Pros

This company attracts people that are inspired, experienced, and smart. Most employees are over-qualified for their jobs and most work to improve the integrity of the company and the quality of its services. It is a great group of people!

Cons

There is a great deal of favoritism. Performance reviews are consistently tardy. Employees that do not work well with others, exhibit poor performance, or put the integrity of the company at risk are not dealt with properly by management or HR. The company does not utilize technology/software to increase efficiency of its systems or the accuracy of its technical analysis.
