Pros

SDLC has very inclusive atmosphere. It's very different from other consulting firm as there are always some events and activities for employees to keep everyone connected. There are several career development options available giving opportunity for growth.

Cons

IThe 401K plan offered by SDLC can be matched by employer.

Pros

During my time, the pay was decent and in fact better than the market rate but I guess they had to offer that amount since they were hiring Carnegie Mellon graduates. Work-life balance was great. Every employee had a great visibility.

Cons

As mentioned in the title, the company has a very poor business model, most of their revenue comes from just one client, and when that client got into financial crisis, the domino effect led the downfall of the company. There were immediate lay offs and employees were made to realize that they were nothing more than dispensable resource. The employee feedback system is not good, managers act more like bosses than leaders or mentors. Employees rarely are seated in the office. Employee work place is the client office and in some practices employees are sent to the client site right from the joining day. Although the working conditions on client sites are lot better than SDLC's own office, this still creates a disconnect of employees from its employer. There is favoritism in the company. Client feedback about employee performance is overshadowed by managers' personal biases. Learning is not that great.
