Pros

Compensation is mid-tier. Remote work. Freedom to do a good (or bad) job. You'll see i have a lot of cons but in all transparency - if you are the type of person who just wants a job w/ respectable compensation and are smart enough to do 40-hours of work in 30 this fills that hole. If you want the company culture experience or really want to grow a company this is not for you, you will be consumed by bureaucracy.

Cons

1. Abysmal training. I don't need training on how to do my role or a 4-hour course on phishing, i need training on the products (HMHS). 2. Abysmal company culture. My manager never once met with me. My 'buddy' sent a single message to me. The person who interviewed me as my manager was not actually my manager and never spoke to me again. 3. Work-life Balance. Repeatedly, the solution from random middle-management will be 'who's working this to resolution tonight/over the weekend'. The issue can be poorly defined + low user impacting + not time sensitive and this will just be the norm from a middle-manager you've never spoken to before. 4. no 401k matching. 5. Employee reviews - my goals were set WITHOUT ME. my goals were set WITHOUT INFORMING ME. I had to write my review against goals i have literally never seen/heard of. 6. employee reviews - 20% of your merit review will be related to things like 'did you retweet us' or join these internal sessions. While no one would say they are hard things to do - it is a joke that it theoretically takes a 5/5 employee and makes them a 4/5. 7. time cards - for some reason time cards excite SDLC. you'll end up submitting, on average, 2.5-3 time cards a week. 8. Lack of security. This position is sold as a full time employee. i found out after, FROM MY CLIENT, that my role was being extended a few more weeks. Then ultimately, for another year. What was going to happen if it wasn't? 9. Company culture. Your SDLC email will be filled with 2-3 people spamming. 10. Autonomy. I was given 2 huge boxes of assets that I didn't ask for. End up having to find a place to keep a bunch of company stuff for no reason. 11. Compensation. When i asked about compensation discrenpency within my position my concerns were never addressed. 12. Employee Investment. you DO NOT HAVE GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES. you sign a non-compete, you cannot take this experience and become a FTE or leverage it for more $. Go directly to HMHS if you want a job, SDLC is just a middle man. 13. employee appreciation. even when i quit the company didn't care about me and wasn't being responsive with my departure.

Pros

The contracting company was professional and SDLC did meet with contractors after we were placed to discuss the job

Cons

Pay, the employees that worked for Highmark made nearly twice as much as the contractors . We were also informed the job was entry level from SDLC however the Highmark managers Informed with certainty this is not entry level . We discussed this and the pay difference with SDLC and nothing was done
