Pros

I've been with SkOUT for several years now and I couldn't have asked to find a better group of people to work with each and every day. Working in cyber security mean helping both businesses and people out when they are faced with a major challenge. The work is extremely fulfilling and the culture within the company is like nothing I had seen before. Everyone genuinely cares about great customer experience and providing great security. Management is also very focused on maintaining a great culture and truly caring about people. The CEO's motto "Find Trouble Before Trouble Finds You" is applied both to our customers as well as internally with the people as well. Management goes out of their way to make sure everyone has a great experience working for the company. If you like a challenge and are a team player, the company is a right fit for you.

Cons

Work / life balance can be a challenge, especially in the cyber security industry. At SkOUT, we have to be ready at a moment's notice to help a customer out when they have a security concern, and this means being available to assist 24/7. I don't think anyone can get away from this fact in the cyber security field, but it's always something to be aware of if you want to work at the company. Luckily the company compensates for this with a variety of rewards and other programs.

Turned Down Multiple Great Offers to Stay

Pros

This is the best company I have ever worked for. I started working here as an intern and I was captivated by the amazing culture and brilliant team. As my internship came to an end, I was lucky to have multiple other offers from leading organizations in my field of choice. I turned them all down to stay at SkOUT. This is a company that demands your best, but also makes sure you are rewarded. You know that when you are at SkOUT, you are doing truly important work.

Cons

The work is hard, but protecting the world IS hard! The workdays can be unpredictable given the state of the industry and the urgency around protecting clients.

Pros

I've been lucky enough to work at a few cyber security companies, and this experience has been unlike anything I could have imagined. There is a real sense of culture and values, with a relentless drive to make sure we're always providing something special to our clients. The team is supportive and creative. Those who want to be leaders can step up at any time, and there is non stop encouragement from management. The culture celebrates suggestions and innovations, so everything is on the table. The work/life balance is great, and people respect one another's time off, but people are always willing to jump on a call or help when it's crunch time. SkOUT also takes care of lunch every single day so you get the chance to try everything in the area. There is a sense of huge growth at the company and we are constantly getting to see new initiatives that are surprising and exciting. It's great to be a part of something that has a sense of value, like you're one of the good guys.

Cons

It is certainly a work hard/play hard atmosphere, and while everyone is encouraged to take time away, there is often such urgency that people spend a lot of time/ late nights in the office. New initiatives, technology updates or annoucements are communicated at all hands meetings, but it would be nice to recieve more regular communications. There is a friendly comeptitiveness between the NYC and Long Island office, and when you need to commute back and forth it can really be a pain. There is work being done to modernize and update the offices, but there is still work to do.
