Pros

$$$, while it's booming. Made more than a doctor for three years starting at 22 years old. Lots of travel opportunities. Work hard, play hard corporate culture. Great benefits in the USA, if you work overseas they're even better!

Cons

No life, always worked 80+ hrs a week, often 100+ (Good luck actually getting you days off!) Very specific job role, doesn't often translate to any other industry. Always very technically underwhelmed, can be very boring. It's a proverbial Engineer meat grinder; also, most people who stick around for a long time seem pretty miserable.

Pros

There were many great opportunities and a lot of room for career advancement. The pay and total compensation package was pretty good.

Cons

There was not a good work and life balance. Along with working long hours, the job required phone, email, and computer work nights, weekends, and holidays.
