Promotions and benefits increase are mostly done using bribes and connections, especially in Houston TX US. Company discourages but protects racially inclined management pretending that they have HR directors as minorities

Pros

Schlumberger has many excellent job opportunities all over the world along with their great benefits. They believe in promoting from within therefore if you are a hard worker you will be rewarded. I have been fortunate to experience both sides of the spectrum both as an up-and-comer as well as the manager evaluating the talent and work ethic.

Cons

As in any Oil & Gas Industry there can be many long days, especially in middle and upper management. As a mid-level manager for one of the larger oil and gas companies in the world the workload had a direct impact on family time.
