Pros

Good pay, travel, opportunities. Great training and learning (particularly in smart people) .

Cons

Very poor management. Terrible emergency response, trust me if you have a medical emergency you are doomed. A friend of mine got a seizure on the rig and 24 hrs after no one in his family was notified, he was still on the rig and after spending five days in the hospital he doesn't have a single medical report. Try your best to stay away from KSA...Things were bad but this new line of management is probably the worst with management. Its schoolboys in office suits, not a good combination. Terrible internal politics and favoritism. They treat expats as slaves. Promotion is not fair and balanced. You are more of an asset and treated like a tool to be used as much as physically possible. They tend to make you feel as this is commendable. Too many people quit and they loose alot of training to competitors. In 2013 43 SLB employees quit, 28 that i know of. They dont tell you or publish stats alot.
