Pros

They have good marketing that they use to lure people in.

Cons

It's not a legitimate company. In my opinion, they are frauds. What they teach doesn't work. You will likely lose money by buying anything they sell.

This is a fake review. It was written by a person who failed at investment banking and then began to harass SMB Capital online. The reason there are no details in the review is because DJ who wrote the review never worked for SMB. We have an extensive recruiting process and we encourage you to apply to the firm if your passion is trading. We have requested that Glassdoor remove the review.

Pros

Where to begin? SMB Capital is probably the best place to begin any equity trading career. Coming in as a developing equity trader in their program, I can tell you the training and attention given to the new hires is unlike any other forum. Multiple developmental meeting every day, placed on a team with senior traders and mid level traders, many of whom making mid 7 figures per year but they are growing bigger as we speak. Exposure to many of the best trading strategies, both day trading and swing/longer term as well is arbitrage strategies. Access to the best trading psychologist in the game. Access to more capital than you could need/use. Access to some of the best technology on the street both on the execution side as well as automated/modeling and scripting side of things. Literally given all the tools and support anyone would ever need to be successful. Develop the right foundation, work hard, improve, and gain the trust of the managers who are there to help you scale up to your full potential, and there is no ceiling to what you can do here, complete freedom to pursue your own edge and ideas. SMB is growing year over year, and made a great decision to partner with KTG several years back. probably now the best prop firm on the street both performance wise and culture wise.

Cons

None I can speak of that aren’t related to trading in general. Trading is an extremely difficult game/profession for any individual at any firm. Those with drive, and a true genuine passion for trading will progress, while those not willing to put in the work or who don’t have this genuine passion will not be able to make a career from this. SMB does more than enough to train, develop, coach, and scale traders, so at the end of the day it’s really up to the individual.

Pros

Ability to generate and test your own ideas in a free-form environment with the backing of the firm's superb technology, management's support, and the community's collaboration. Almost everybody here was willing to work with me from the beginning because of the general belief that long-term collaboration leads to long-term consistency and success. From this, I was able to narrow it down a core team that I enjoy working with very much. Training new traders is SMB Capital's specialty. I started as a brand new, excited young trader, ready to attack the markets and generate PnL instantly. Management has seen many pathways to success and treated me as an individual right away, but at the same time showed me a perspective on a proper process for improving consistently everyday. I believe this balance is what made SMB Capital a success for me. I cannot understate how easy the technology is to use and the number of options available. I started as a discretionary trader, and was able to learn how to backtest my strategies in under 3 months. Now, the firm is backing my automated trading algorithms. My coding background coming in was small to medium.

Cons

It is what you make it. If you're not asking questions, nobody will come to you as everybody is constantly working on their own growth. If you're not providing ideas, research, or time, then nobody has a good reason to continue working with you. If you are not willing to put in work in the right way, you will fail.
