Pros

Friendly group to work with, like to enjoy the night life together, helpful in training. Partners made butttloads in 90's tech bubble and '08, so making money isn't an issue.

Cons

It's all about the money. If you can't make it and you lose your account, you're done. Very intimidating fact if you having a hard time.

Pros

Where to begin? SMB Capital is probably the best place to begin any equity trading career. Coming in as a developing equity trader in their program, I can tell you the training and attention given to the new hires is unlike any other forum. Multiple developmental meeting every day, placed on a team with senior traders and mid level traders, many of whom making mid 7 figures per year but they are growing bigger as we speak. Exposure to many of the best trading strategies, both day trading and swing/longer term as well is arbitrage strategies. Access to the best trading psychologist in the game. Access to more capital than you could need/use. Access to some of the best technology on the street both on the execution side as well as automated/modeling and scripting side of things. Literally given all the tools and support anyone would ever need to be successful. Develop the right foundation, work hard, improve, and gain the trust of the managers who are there to help you scale up to your full potential, and there is no ceiling to what you can do here, complete freedom to pursue your own edge and ideas. SMB is growing year over year, and made a great decision to partner with KTG several years back. probably now the best prop firm on the street both performance wise and culture wise.

Cons

None I can speak of that aren’t related to trading in general. Trading is an extremely difficult game/profession for any individual at any firm. Those with drive, and a true genuine passion for trading will progress, while those not willing to put in the work or who don’t have this genuine passion will not be able to make a career from this. SMB does more than enough to train, develop, coach, and scale traders, so at the end of the day it’s really up to the individual.
