Pros

I truly enjoyed the Visiting Artists program, where, as a TA, we would help with their experience at SMU. I would look forward to driving a renowned artist to a studio, getting 1 on 1 feedback, and signing up for dinners with them and some professors. It felt the most inclusive and worthwhile. I felt like it was a huge privilege.

Cons

The faculty was transitioning when I was attending, but I hear they have great staff now. It was difficult to find a sense of belonging in the small department, and I had to be a jack of all trades to stand out.
