Pros

Day yo day, this is an ok place to work - the people on the bottom rung are good people and you can have a good time at work. They give you access to plenty of tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter (if you are one of the lucky few), CareerBuilder, Monster, DiscoverOrg, etc They do encourage relational recruiting and keeping clients loyal with a good level of customer service to both clients and candidates.

Cons

Senior Management try and make all their employees into mini versions of themselves, rather than focus on any individuals' strengths and help them to use those strengths effectively. Senior Management come up with "new" ideas constantly, but very rarely follow through with anything concrete. In-house training is practically non-existent, if you haven't come from staffing, you will find it very hard. When they do do the once a month training, it is outdated and extremely unrealistic. Senior Management care about the bottom line and that is all. They think they are giving you all the "tools" to do the job, without actually understanding the different marketplaces and nuances of each area of the country. Extremely high staff turnover in just about every office; uncertainty; major issues in offices are often overlooked because the managers like a certain person. Unless you are a top biller, there is no room for advancement within the company, irrespective of your ability as a manager. If you don't meet your draw when you leave, you will be paid practically minimum wage.

Pros

I learned alot from management and training.

Cons

Very high turnover, not many jobs to work on. The expeactions are high from upper management. I had 2 placements but they still let me go. I was singled out, they play favorites. They don't have established clients. They get too many vms job orders and are almost last in line. You can't he successful there if you are constantly stressed out

Pros

They email me with potential jobs often.

Cons

Just so many.... they would email and call me often about potential office work. Usually, I'm already working so I tell them I'm unavailable but there's been quite a few times where I've told them I'm interested only to never hear from them until the next job comes along. There was only two times that they even asked me to come in to the office to apply for the company. The first time, I was talking to one of the staff members through multiple phone calls and emails about a potential job. She seemed so interested in me and excited for me to come in. This particular staff member has emailed and called me plenty of times about several jobs, and she was always pleasant. I've given her my resume and info quite a few times but when I came in to meet with her, her demeanor completely changed. She was short with me and rude and then told me she couldn't sell my resume to anyone because I have too many short term temp jobs on there and I needed to completely fix my resume. I had no idea how to fix that, so I went home feeling crappy but tried to rework my resume. She called me a day later to offer me a short term temp assignment. I declined as according to her, that was my issue. The second time I went into the office, I was talking to a different staff member for some time as well. She was so pleasant and delightful and seemed to really be trying to place me into an office job since I started talking her (Same issue of usually when she contacted me, I was already doing a job). After a position I had for a year through a different and much better temp agency, I needed some time off for family reasons and she contacted me about an office job around the time I was ready to get back to work. A few days later she told me about a warehouse position that lasts a week. I was desperate for work and figured they'd get to know my work ethic, so why not go for it. Of course, I got this job and went in to meet her. While waiting in the office for her to arrive for our appointment (she was late) she walked right pass me not even acknowledging me. When the receptionist informed her, I was the person she was meeting with, she came over and apologized and set me up for tests. She very obviously didn't want to shake my hand and was looking at me like I said something rude to her. This person who has been very personable and lovely to me every time we talked, all of a sudden was standoffish and looked like she just wanted to flee. After quickly meeting me and setting me up for the tests, I didn't see or talk to her again until after my assignment. I did the warehouse job that was not even close to my office assistant/clerical field and then when I finished she asked if I'd be interested in a job that wasn't near me and was less pay than the job I just finished and lower pay that I've had at any job since I started working. I can only speculate on why these people are nice to me over the phone and email and then when they see me face to face, all of sudden aren't interested. I don't THINK I'm sure an abomination of an ugly person that they'd be so shocked and couldn't even face me comfortably. I don't like to throw the race card out there, but seeing as they knew my info beforehand except for I look like, I can only think to attribute it to something about the way I look. However, perhaps I'm wrong about the race thing and I actually am distractingly awful looking. Beyond that, I have a huge problem with them telling me that short term temp jobs are an issue for my resume only to offer me only short term temp jobs. I also have an issue with them placing me in jobs outside my field and offering me jobs with insultingly low pay. I would think it's just me, but every other temp agency I've signed up with has been able to get me office jobs (some truly great ones) at much much better pay. So the issue lies entirely with them.
