Everyone knows everyone buisness, sometimes uprofessional. Steel buisness is at the mercy of the volatility of the stock market.

Good pay. Company match on 401k, decent health insurance.

Cons

Lots of overtime. Management, and HR do not care about your personal life, company runs so lean, the workload and stress load are a lot. They are slow to hire replacements, so everyone else has to do more work. No room for advancement, flat pay rate across the mill even though workloads are vastly different from Department to Department.
