Pros

Location, patient level employees care and are good

Cons

Management is extremely poor. They not only have no vision for the future but don't seem to know how to even manage a health system. Nursing to patient ratios are unsafe. There is never enough equipment. The turn over is so high that the most senior nurses have less than 2 years experience. The worse is that their billing practices are questionable, they contract out all sorts of jobs so a patient t will receive multiple bills from multiple specialties. Keeping g I like d those specialties aren't even related to SSM so they are much more aggressive with collecting debt. This system states it's a Catholic organization but I will tell you that is just not true. They are only Catholic from the outside meaning advertisements and commercials. Nothing Christian about this place.

Pros

Being part of the SSM Family. Really good benefits.

Cons

This is specifically about the home health sector of SSM. This organization leaves much to be desired. One would expect with such a trusted name like SSM in the community having such an influence over health care in the Saint Louis region, that the company would show more of a concern over how their home health sector is ran, but this has proven to not be true. Employees are overworked. Employees are constantly reprimanded and never told when they are doing a good job. The Saint Louis branch is on the verge of crumbling.

Pros

It is a great job if they like you and you are one of the "chosen ones", but you better fit their mold and look. They are making improvements, but they are 10 years behind the competition

Cons

Not all, but most of the people in leadership roles are FAKE. They talk about how important their mission statement is, but they often contradict that statement through their actions. Management does what they want and will cut corners to do so. When selecting people for promotions/new jobs they don't care about process or qualifications. They have their favorites and it's obvious. Some people felt threatened by strong confident employees. Instead of welcoming them and possibly learning from these employees they shut them down for their own preservation.
