Pros

the benefits are amazing if you are in network, and there are a lot of cool people in the organization. The job can be very rewarding.

Cons

the pay is terrible - $10/hour with a college degree, and when I got my master's degree they refused to bump up my pay or acknowledge my increase in education in any way. Bad managers tend to stay, and the policies for writing people up are confusing at best.

Pros

Looks to the Mission when they want to inspire you to go the extra mile

Cons

When layoffs happen (which have been frequent) they dont look at job performance, just wave the axe from their high priced offices.

Pros

Plenty of vacation time Co-workers are great! Free vaccinations Tuition Reimbursement

Cons

Insurance used to be great (now have a $600 deductable, higher premiums, PT employees pay double for premiums, $50 p/p surcharge to cover spouse, & pay % for xrays & labwork) Step too much into your private life (won't hire tobacco users-even ecigs, and check FB status) Management is a joke ( upper management is oblivious to what the true Pt. experience is, have unrealistic expectations for employees, manipulate employees by bending the truth) In 2014 raises will be frozen (so for housekeepers, they wont get their measely $.20 yearly raise-such a shame) I've seen this company fire hundreds of people in one swoop then fill up again on management. Only to fire a few hundred more a couple years later. The saddest part is that they advertise to new hires that it is easy to grow in the company. Some employees do manage to grow but many (most in support services) apply to transfer to other departments and are turned down-even with college degrees! Too often we have seen people off the street hired before transferring current employees.
