Pros

very flexible with scheduling and able to accomodate the various needs of the employee. A very good place to work.

Cons

There are not a lot of downfalls to working with SSM. I guess one would be the performance review process, it's time consuming.

Pros

benefits clean lots of different clinical departments shift options cafeteria central location decent parking some great doctors some good nurses there good training department

Cons

They talk about the nurses as if they are nuns, praising their supposed willingness to angels of mercy with no needs of their own. The reality is that they expect you to work sometimes dangerously under-staffed and not terribly well paid. Lack of upper management support when something goes really wrong. They will punish you for a WC injury unless you do your regular job despite orders against it and without complaining, and pretend they have not asked you to do so, but that you insist. They are terrified of firing a minority staff person, so they insult the excellent minority staff by forcing them and non-minorities to work with them indefinitely, even if their performance is AWFUL or even dangerous. If you're managing this employee, it's hands-off or out YOU go.

Pros

hard working staff; pleasant (most of them) at working level

Cons

Management in my department was based in St. Louis. The ended up hiring a inept manager in OKC. 15 of us started out as "temps" and were promised work (without benefits) until Dec. 23rd. When asked in meetings if we would be kept until then, they positively said "Yes". They ended up cutting us short (right before Christmas with children to feed at home) and then after 8 months of hard work, (and after telling us there would be "permanent positions" for us), they made us go through a lengthy and cumbersome interview process. After it was all said and done, they ended up keeping a few and hiring all brand new employees to fill the rest of our positions. Don't believe the Catholic Hype!
