Pros

Most of the time, there is flexibility in the scheduling for staff. I love the job itself and my coworkers.

Cons

Management is horrible. Communication is all over the place. You will get told one thing to your face, and then find out they were just telling you what you wanted to hear, but never intended to follow through. There is favoritism and no real consequences. Good employees are being taken advantage of and the other ones are getting away with everything because SSM doesn't want to deal with the hassle of actual firing anyone.

- Decent, yet restrictive benefits - Hardworking staff and community

Cons

- Below average pay - Toxic workplace culture, lots of workplace violence - Insufficient staffing for safe patient care - A culture of nepotism and hostility amongst management - Lack of concern for staff safety and retention - Antiquated hospital policies and rude physician staff. - Patient outcomes secondary to profit generation - Regular mass exoduses of bedside staff, entire 30+ bed floors with <10 core staff members -No union or workforce representation, attempts to unionize are treated with hostility
