Pros

If you are a recent college graduate looking to take a gap year prior to applying to professional school (i.e. med school, nursing school, PA school), this job will teach you more than you may have ever thought you'd learn in a gap year. BUT don't overcommit yourself to this job or you won't have the mental capacity (or the time) outside of work to do what you need to (read cons). Good base pay, good benefits, good doctors and MAs, the people around you encourage you to learn and are always willing to help out (at least this has been my overall experience in the past 2 years), most of the physicians give Fridays off.

Cons

Overtime seems discouraged but if you don't get all your hours they'll definitely tell you to stay later (expect to work 7:30/7:45 to after 5, sometimes 6 though), expect to learn quickly and be thrown into the fire FAST. If you can't think and type on a computer at the same time you're in for a rough ride during training, HR/Management tries to micromanage without knowing the extent of our (MAs) actual day-to-day work flow, can be emotionally and mentally tolling, oh and don't expect to be able to choose whether you want to use PTO or not... even if the office is closed, you gotta use your PTO!
