Our patients keep me coming back every day. With such a need for SUN’s services in a community I love, I am proud of the efforts made to help begin a path to recovery and wellness.

Cons

Without superior time management and organizational skills, it can become a stressful work environment.

Pros

Always an abundance of over-time available, benefits (except health insurance).

Cons

Dangerously low staffing (working with bare bone staffing 95% of the time). Pay is low considering the amount and acuity of work you are expected to do. Management does NOT listen to the concerns of employees. Favoritism is running rampant. Very cliquey staff, especially on the children and adolescent units. Selective scheduling (nurses have the option to work 8 or 12-hour shifts while the techs can only work 8-hour shifts).

I love the experience that I have gotten as an intake clerk these past few months. I enjoy my coworkers and learning more about behavioral health. Working at SUN is a different world for me, but I love every second of it.

Cons

So many constant unexpected changes and sometimes a lot of miscommunication. But nonetheless, it all works out at the end of each day.
