Pros

Work Life balance, Smart People, Great environnement and infrastructure.

Cons

They have an issue in IT that everybody knows but nothing is done at it. It is a Matrix organisation, a very weak one where functional management has the power. This means that Project Management is a Executor, Administrator, Coordinator department but really lack their "Management power" has it should be in a strong Matrix organisation. Nothing is done to empower this department (and unpower the functional ones - mainly delivery). This situation create lots of collaboration and communication issue, frustration. Also, When you have a Project Manager with a hierarchy level lower than your functional managers then you have issues. A lot.

Pros

Team with more mature product tend to have better and stable management. Medical benefit. Office has good facility like dual 24“-27“ monitors in most of the table. At minimum 1 monitor, you can connect your laptop to that monitor. Locker so you no need to bring your laptop home. Meeting room with good video conference equipment. In most cases are above average compared with others local IT company offices. HR management put effort in making the workplace better, especially for new office buildings later I think.

Cons

The quality of management are not spread equally. Some manager have self centered mentality, and the concept in their mind contradict a value like adapt to customer need. And many more different employee with different problem in their characters. Promotion sometimes given by your luck, if you start as a single fighter in a team which just built recently, you will get faster promotion. Salary just below or average. There will always a time when reality defeat the "life balance" and "we are community not profit oriented" propaganda. When people choose and you lose the talent. The quality of the new hired people are not consistent and sometimes misleading. Seniority for new hire seems like more because of the age instead of the knowledge. New hired senior dev but still do the same simple coding mistake as fresh grad, and lack of linux proficiency, I know everything can be catch up later, but come on, this is senior lvl, we expect senior to teach middle lvl in common knowledge like linux, not the opposite. Also got middle level dev but no Linux proficiency, don't know how to reduce redundancy in conditional statement by just separate it into one simple method, and don't even expect them to think about generics, come on, don't tell me you give this guys the same starting salary with the other new hired middle lvl with good knowledge in linux, jenkins and so on. Even worse, some of them have no passion to get better independently, really like the characters of people who just come to work and done. And people with same middle lvl but have better quality always end up busy helping/supporting/lift up them. Imagine you middle lvl dev busy sitting beside senior lvl dev, helping him/her find the problem in his/her code, while he/she close her/his eye and sleep. The quality of the interviewer are not equal I think. Company provides a lot of training, most of the time are soft skill, some of them are useless training, especially for technical guys.

We’re very sorry to hear that you felt this way, but appreciate your taking the time to feedback. Please know that your feedback will be communicated internally. We are currently in the process of rolling out widespread Campus renovations across our global offices in order to increase the number of open and communal working spaces. At locations where this has already been implemented, we are seeing increased employee interaction and are working to ensure that this collaborative working environment is made available to everyone at SWIFT.
