Pros
Access to benefits even though they were beyond expensive Was nice honing my skills over 9 years of employment with them
Cons
Any chance they (Clean Harbors-their parent company) get to reduce pay, benefits, or commissions they take. After 9 years (4 of which being the top service rep) I made less than the first year after their salary and commission changes in early 2021. They have impossible goals designed to pay out as little as possible. They took away/reduced vacation amounts without telling a soul and took the same tactic when reducing commission amounts. They prefer to hire outside of the company instead of promoting from within. Benefits increased in cost an average of 8% every year for the past 6 years. They frown on any attempt for more home time and it is expected to work at least 50 hours a week, but 12 hr days are preferred. The support offered to reps is beyond minimal. They view them as a replaceable number even though company turnover is at an all time high. Combine the toxic work environment of "anything you did yesterday is garbage you need to do more today" with their overpriced, super low quality inventory and it is not a fun experience and it gets worse every year. Last thing-they do not believe in rewarding their employees based off of their actions.. By that I mean they took away all bonus' and also froze base pay increases every year since 2013. In terms of pay- any other trucking company pays better. Especially when you take in to consideration they pay based off of the state cost of living and do not account for the higher costs of living in the large metro's their branches reside.
