Pros

The managers were very understanding with schedules and would work with you. The atmosphere was very friendly and most employees got along well. The pay was good considered to other stores in the area. They would give out raises every 6 months.

Cons

There are a lot of procedures to follow when serving customers. On slow months hours are cut so you may not get the hours you want. Donations, Donations, Donations! You have to ask every customer for donations and sometimes donations would last up to a month. We would always get repeat customers so there was always some customer angry at getting asked to donate.

Pros

Co workers and most management very pleasant and hard working. Flexible scheduling was good. and store level communication was encouraged.

Cons

Lack of concern for employees and customers evident when Safeway closed the Dominicks stores in Chicago area. It was admitted the bottom line was the shareholders, with a very cold attitude toward everyone else.
