While my coworkers where all good people the majority lacked work ethics and common sense. The pay scale is terrible for lower level employees so if you can't move up to a better position you are stuck making barely above min. wage.

poor raises. you will have to put up with the most disrespectful people. its not always the customers that are unpleasant. your "union benefits" wont kick in for a while and when they do you wont always be covered. you have to pay a large union fee which increases with each promotion. once that fee is paid off you are still required to pay union dues which are taken out every third paycheck. if you should chose to leave Safeway, you are still being charged union dues, even if you no longer work for the company. for the work you do the payout is not worth it.
