      Pros

      Great benefits, most managers in accounting and finance are very encouraging of the work/life balance, you can get all the help and information you need, if you know who and how to ask.

      Cons

      Pay is low compared to other comparable jobs, but that is just the grocery retail industry as a whole until you get to the executive level.

      If you can make it to journeymen level the pay is decent. The benefits used to be great but not so much anymore.

      Cons

      Good luck getting 40 hours a week. I worked graveyard, swing, early morning shifts all in a week to get close to 40 hours. They will call you to come in to work and get pissy with you if you have plans. I worked for Safeway for 12 years holding a variety of different positions. It can be a good place to work if you are single and want to move up the ladder. If family is important to you at all this is not the place for you.
