Pros

They have a decent portfolio of hotels

Cons

I can't give ZERO star so I had to at least give it 1 star. don't know how to treat employees. Confusing initiatives. corporate office hotel side and corporate office food and beverage side don't agree on goals for hotels or initiatives. upper/senior management don't care about employees. while change is normal in any industry or hotel, this company can't figure out what direction it wants to go on top of senior level leadership never sticking to initiatives...spends money without looking at budget and then wants to know you can't meet bottom line budgets. Pretty horrendous turnover rates...unless you kiss some serious *** don't expect to grow your career

I am sorry to hear of your concerns about Sage as we do take our reputation very seriously. I would never consider any of our Senior Leaders as immoral or unethical as we always strive to be open, honest and have full integrity. If that is not what you experienced then I truly hope you were honest during your exit interview so that we can make changes and improve. Our Associates are key to the success of our company and I truly value each and every one of them. I would appreciate any specific feedback you have at any time. I wish you the best in your career.

Pros

The focus on employee development, open friendly environment, amazing culture, freedom to implement new ideas/processes, ability to re imagine existing processes, community outreach, dog day Fridays, employee gym, hotel discounts, and the people.

Cons

Unfortunately the biggest con is employee benefits and it takes away from the great thing Sage has going. I don't think the PTO policy has changed since the company was founded. We have wonderful hotel benefits to get out and see the world but no time to do it. You won't get much time off unless you are an executive. Maternity/Paternity leave is a bare minimum. Important communications are not standardized or centralized from a communications team and therefore can be delayed or missed across divisions and departments. There is a lack of Diversity throughout the senior leadership team, however many of the property leadership teams are diverse. No focus on the environment.

Your feedback and honesty is truly valued. I appreciate the details and specific input you gave us in this review. We are always striving to improve in the areas that are important to our associates. I will have the HR team look at our benefits to ensure we are being competitive in the industry. We have recently begun to make environmentally friendly changes at the home office through recycling, eliminating paper products and will be looking at many other ways to become more sustainable. We do look at diversity when we are hiring and recruiting and take that into consideration when we are interviewing and hiring people. We strive to get the best candidate for the position at all times. Thank you again for the open communication and know that we look at each of these reviews and do our best to make the necessary changes to make Sage the best hospitality company to work for. Continue to give us feedback! We love it.
