Pros

Happy, motivated employees who are well taken care of and treated with respect. The company has a strong community service reputation where everyone, including senior management and C-level participate in volunteer projects.

Cons

Internal departmental communication to work together could be improved.

Pros

They are well respected within the hospitality industry and working for this company looks great on a resume - if you can suffer through the horrible corporate politics for a couple of years. They are a family first company. Though you may work a lot of hours if you need time off for family it is granted. Hourly employees are well respected and encouraged

Cons

Sage advertises amongst it's employees that they are proud to promote from within. Yet on my property alone there have been 3 different managers that have applied for Directors positions that they were at the time, fulfilling on a temporarily basis (3 - 6 months) successfully, Yet those positions were filled from outside applicants. Directors are treated like corporate Gods. Managers are required to work longer and harder hours than anyone on property and yet there opinions and job experience are routinely questioned or rejected. If anything is expressed to HR about these practices or any grievance for that matter the HR director make it her personal goal to either ostracize that employee to the point of quitting or they become fired.
