Saint-Gobain is a large, multi-national French company. They're breadth of businesses affords tremendous opportunities for career development, if you are multi-lingual and willing to relocate. Saint-Gobain is diverse enough in their product offerings to weather changing economic conditions. They are also a leader in the green technology space, which has positive upside for sector growth.

Cons

Unless you are a French white male, your prospects for professional development are significantly limited. The management team does not listen to employees and poorly communicates strategy. The executive team rarely gets in front of employees, probably partly out of an elitist attitude. Technology (systems) are usually not connected, so be prepared to have to constantly re-key data - since their IT infrastructure is poor. Finally, change happens VERY SLOWLY at Saint-Gobain.

$401k, pension, dental, vision, healthcare, and life insurance along with vacation days and personal/sick time. optional overtime as well as double time for working on holidays.

Cons

Upper management doesnt listen to the people on the floor, its a very toxic atmosphere and a whole lot of politics that are very unprofessional. If you report any sort of misconduct look forward to losing your job. They play favorites very heavily. They pick and choose which policies and procedures they are to follow.

Pay was decent or so I thought until I was forced to move on and realized what better companies were offering. Sword I'd never work for another French company but I am and they're wonderful!! It's just Saint Gibson that's toxic! You can make more money, be appreciated for your skills, and actually LEARN SOMETHING AT ANY company other than this one! Best thing ever happened to me was getting fired from this job!! Firings are on a cost basis to their bottom line metric.. Nothing to do at all to your performance.. Ungrateful and cold as ice. Much better opportunities out there.. Just look, you will see better opportunities beyond S-G.. Much better pay, benefits and respect with the work that you do. This company makes impossible targets for you to achieve and bases your bonus on it. Swore I'd never work for a French Co. Again, but I am and they're wonderful! Appreciation backed up by real bonuses! Run from this company
