Pros

Health insurance Great frontline staff for the most part My experience with this health system helped me realize what I don't want in an employer.

Cons

Top-heavy and bloated management/corporate model that has only gotten worse over time. Sadly, there are many in these positions that have very little or no prior healthcare experience. Many decisions regarding how units were ran were handed down by upper management without a clue on how to actually implement them. Shared governance is an illusion. No consistency or communication between unit managers and directors. Inconsistent training/orientation for new hires and transfers. Poor pay compared to other hospitals in the metro. Extremely high turnover due to poor staffing and zero leadership. It is more than obvious that the bottom line is more important than having appropriate staffing. The absenteeism rate was astronomical.
