Pros

It is structured so everything is run according to the organizational structure and is very centralized. Not much turnover.

Cons

So structured, centralized, and full of people who have been there forever that sometimes it is hard to implement change

Pros

Opportunities for advancement, education reimbursement, beautiful facility, generally have all supplies in stock. The NICU itself has excellent support staff but currently has no manager and it shows.

Cons

A lot of nurses <3 years nursing experience and next to no "real life" experience. Your experience in other departments or in NICU at other facilities will not be valued on the night shift. Day shift is lovely
