Pros

I'm proud to be joining an organization that is rooted in Christian and Conservative values. Since my first day, everyone I have met has been extremely warm, welcoming and more than happy to give advice and guidance. I'm confident I'll have an exciting career here at Salem. Plenty of mentorship to be found here. I would also like to note that my interview process was extremely welcoming, informational and personable. Everyone I met with throughout the process was very personable and I knew from the process I'd gain excellent mentorship if given the opportunity to join the team. I'm eager to learn and grow with this team.

Cons

No cons for me at this point.

Pros

There isnt one single pro that I can think of after more than decade of working at Salem If there were "negative" stars I would give them.

Cons

I experienced bullying for years. Comments about my religion were commonplace, which is illegal in my state. I was routinely treated, in open fashion, disrespectfully amongst my peers and my direct reports. There was an on-going intent to discredit my reputation and any professional success. For years, I saw repeated discrimination towards people of color and women due to a "boys club" culture. The real dedicated people that built the company have left or were fired over the last 3 years as part of an agenda to force them out. What remains is a "shell" of what used to be a great company that cared about its audience and its employees. The new company is NOT Christian nor conservative. They have been bought out by private equity investors. The company has insurmountable debt as a result of poor decisions made over the last several years. It is run by mostly people who do not practice their own faith nor share the conservative philosophy, so the product will continue to suffer. They live a lie and use Christian content to "sell" and peddle the audience to ministries and advertisers. Avoid at all costs. You'd be better working at a gas station.
