Pros

The ideal work environment is one in which the entire team, or at least your immediate team, works together to get the job done. In an ideal work environment, my relationship with my supervisor is one in which there is open communication and my ideas, opinions and insight are always welcome, even though they may not be chosen.

Cons

Year-end evaluation process needs improvement. Work/life balance is key and would like management to consider flex hours (e.g. 4/10)

Pros

Family atmosphere, approachable leadership, employee-focused, ethical business practices, pays well for Christian-owned broadcaster, employees are fiercely loyal to company, mostly hands-off managerial style in programming department

Cons

Honestly, as compared to other employers I've worked for over the past 25 years, I really don't see any cons in working for Salem. They are more than fair with wages, vacation and sick time, etc. Even in a poor economy they usually find a way to give minimal raises annually.

Pros

Salem does recognize and reward its bright hardworking stars with promotions. Lovely people, it's so nice to be in a business atmosphere where there aren't any angry outbursts, cursing, or ugly power games going on. Salem folks are basically nice happy family folk. It's a fun place to work, with lots of great food!

Cons

A large company with not enough cross communication ( : ha ha Salem Communications) creates unnecessary confusion and delays.
