Pros

I would say the people are the best part of working here. It seems to draw Christians even though that is not a requirement by any means to working here. It is such a pleasure to not have all the backstabbing that I have seen in other companies. Everyone is very supportive of each other.

Cons

I would say the benefits are not the greatest. We have lost some really good people because of the benefits.

Pros

The atmosphere is positive and friendly. The opportunity to grow is incredible. The company really looks out for you. Just like anywhere else work can be hard but Salem has a great teamwork idea where we all pitch in to get the job done. I have never felt like I was on my own. Work life balance is a plus. Pay increases every year. We keep getting new benefits and benefit options.

Cons

Vacation accrual on the low side. (2 weeks a year for the first 6 years).

Pros

I love the people here. In many ways, this is more of a community than a competitive corporate environment. The team really works as a team and supports each other. Overall, there is respect from management for the team that supports them. The work/life balance overall is reasonable. The values of the company are solid Christian conservative and it's nice to see quotes from the Bible and Ronald Reagan in the lunchroom!

Cons

The benefits are weak. Vacation accrues very slowly (or so it seems) for a new employee. Medical insurance isn't the greatest (medical premiums are high and so are the deductibles at the lower premium level). The waiting period before signing up for benefits is too long. Most companies enroll the first of the month following hire date, here it's about 3 months.
