Pros

Pay + Benefits + Office Perks is great. The chefs on Ohana cook absolutely delicious treats, and once a month they host free lunch popups. Commission is capped but overall you make decent money, and the individual teams are tight-knit. You get experience using Salesforce, you make good connections, and generally the tools and information available to you are top notch and will benefit your career, if that is important to you. Documentation of processes and RoE is decent, however you will still need to train yourself on products / selling points / etc as the company materials aren't well-tailored to the SDR position. Compared to many companies, at least Salesforce compensates you well for its toxic culture. It’s a good first job out of college, just be prepared to be overworked and deal with lots of BS. (hint: it’s probably not much different at other tech companies)

Cons

Toxic organizational culture: There was rampant cheating and dishonesty which led to inflated metrics, and it became necessary to game your metrics to stay competitive—this typically meant setting discovery calls with AEs when you knew the prospect would no-show, such as when the prospect said they did not want to talk to an AE or when you never made contact with the prospect to begin with. You compete with all your peers for promotion to BDR, and if you don’t hit the total metrics needed by 1 year of tenure, you won’t be there much longer—you could also get PIPd out around month 6-8 if your metrics aren’t on par with your peers. Even when reps told the directors that everybody was cheating, they did nothing until it wasted our AEs’ time to the point that one of the RVPs chastised them to finally crack down on it. While this was a positive, unfortunately they refused to lower the metrics back to an attainable level, keeping them artificially inflated. If you get promoted to BDR, the gaming gets worse, as opportunities are harder to come by but metrics are still crazy high (managers are aware of it, too, but they have high metrics of their own to hit—it’s all a game). Our phone system unequally distributed/routed inbound calls (higher converting leads), and despite inquiring as to how the phone system worked and why it was unequal, our directors did not seem concerned about it. There were whole teams of reps skipping lunch and remaining glued to their desks to make calls, and rather than discourage this overambitious behavior, our leaders turned a blind eye. If you are a high school mean girl or an insecure overachiever, you will fit in here. There is a lack of autonomy, as every part of your process is scrutinized for not adhering to their model. And like every sales job, they give you a few days of mostly irrelevant powerpoint trainings and then say “get on the phone, figure it out.”

Pros

They contribute a lot to the community. Vto opp is good

Cons

Have to go in office upon being laid off I realized I was about 30% under market pay for my role. Lack of internal opportunity. Politics own this place. Wolf in sheep’s clothing steer clear of this experience. they’ve rolled back so many benefits just go to another crm competitor the benefits package and pay will be better. Salesforce lays off ppl every year and promise things they roll back on constantly.
